thanks for that

So, its week two in the couch-to-5k. I downloaded a podcast that does the timing for me and has some sweet running music and it has made a huge difference. The guy on the podcast is usually encouraging but at about the 15 minute mark he come on and says "you should be feeling the effects from the run right now, but not be out of breath."

hmmm, either:
a) I am running harder than I should .
or
b) I am WAY more out of shape than the normal couch-to-5k runner.

I am pretty sure it's b.

Hey...you are out there doing it...

Some days are better than others. I figure that if I run at the pace that will keeping me coming back out and running again the next day....then I'm making progress.

I completely agree with your mom, Jord! :) I'm excited for you - being out there and DOING it!

I'm looking forward to being a bit more active myself... in oh, say 6-7 months. For now, TRYING to get a walk in will have to suffice! I'll be picking your brain at that time about these podcasts... :)

I'm just so proud of you. 15 minutes? That feels like a lifetime when I run!

For the record, around week 5 I almost quit- because... are you ready for this? I was going too fast! I felt like I was always one step away from quitting/barely moving- then I realized at week 5 that I had to slow down.It made a huge difference and week 5 was then easier than week 4 and I didn't quit. Just a thought.. Maybe you're TOO good for your own good (snort).
